About us

Our family has owned this home since the 70's. Our grandparents raised their eight kids here, owned local businesses, built the first two motels in the area, and carved out a life in this little slice of paradise.

Our grandmother long outlived our grandfather and as matriarch she welcomed the family at large into her home each summer which meant (mostly) joyful chaos and dinner for 35 each night.  In her later years, she made it her mission to figure out how this house could stay in the family to be passed down to each successive generation.

In our effort to honor her legacy and continue to make memories year after year, we have decided to open up the property to be rented so that it can be maintained and enjoyed by all of our families for years to come.  Taking on this task are her four daughters and her three oldest granddaughters, hence the "Seven Sisters".

Keeping this property going is truly a labor of love and only possible because the whole family contributes in all sorts of ways.  It binds us together and allows us and our children to come together each summer to enjoy each other's company and this very special place.

About the house

Built in 1914 (profiled in this book featuring historic cottages from the area),  and located on beautiful and scenic M-22, this was our grandmother's home for almost 50 years and

she knew and loved every square inch of this property.

Special touches include her beautiful gardens, the large dining room table she made on her own at the high school wood shop from drift wood she had her kids collect from the beach, and the occasional sandbag made out of pantyhose for which she had myriad uses.

When you walk in the house, you can feel the history, you see the family photos, and probably think, "Yep, this was definitely someone's grandma's house".  Florals? Check.  Tchotchkes? Ohhh yes.  Claw foot tub?  You betcha.

This is a special and unique space on an almost one acre property with exclusive lake access.  Little Glen Lake is a beautiful white sand

bottom lake with incredible vistas perfect for swimming, boating, kayaking, fishing, and

more and it's all right in your backyard.  Not to mention the fringe-topped, 1977 Harris Flote-Bote pontoon boat for sitting dockside and watching the sunset (she's more antique than boat and is meant to remain at shore!).

As one of a dwindling number of original cottages and owners, this is a piece of beautiful local history, quaint compared to the larger, modern homes around it.  This house is meant to bring people together.  It has been the heart of our family for 50 years and if that's the vibe you want to bring to your family gathering, then this is the spot for you.
