The Garage Apartment

While this is neither a garage nor an apartment, the name is a result of the history of the property and the origin of this particular building.  This was the site of the original garage for the property but as the family grew, it was converted into a funky and fun sleeping space to be used when the family at large gathered each summer. 

 

In 2015, a historic straight line wind storm blew threw the area flattening hundreds of trees, homes and, sadly, the original structure. (You can read about it here and check out the book detailing the science of this type of storm and its impact here.) 

 

What was rebuilt was this rustic two story structure perfect for sleeping large groups.  It's not glamorous, but it definitely retains the spirit of the original structure and has a special place in our hearts.
